Martin's New Best Friend: Abdullah Khadr

"The family came (to Canada) many, many years ago and they obtained Canadian citizenship many years ago," Martin said in Regina on Sunday.

"They have Canadian citizenship, and we don't have two classes of citizens."

...Someone, please, stop this man. I mean it. Stop him now.

It's despicable how this man can defend a terrorist, someone who only cares about destroying the real Canadian Values that we hold dear, just so he can wrap himself in the Charter. This is disgusting. Abdullah Khadr is a TERRORIST. He would gladly kill you in a heartbeat.

Martin has to go, and he had to go now. If Canadians have any sense at all, they will cry out for electoral blood over this (don't hold your breath, dear readers).

Martin's been nothing more than a broken record lately. Repeat after me, "I will defend (Charter Rights) (Canada) (Canadian Values) (Federalism in Quebec) (Terrorists who want us Dead)." He'll say anything to look like he's doing something for Canadians.

If it were up to me, the Khadrs would have been deported years ago. I used to work for the government, and I saw dozens of hardworking immigrants denied citizenship despite the fact that they had jobs and family here, and were contributing to Canada and making it a better place. They were good for Canada. And yet they were deported while Immigration sat on their hands and hummed a happy tune.

And still we let people like the Khadrs into Canada, terrorists who want us dead because we don't look a certain way or practice a certain religion or pursue the right foreign policy.

Give him due process. After all, we're far better than the clerics who pursue a mob justice mentality in Islamic Theocracies like Iran. But for all that is good in this world, don't defend him.

I would rather like to think that there are two classes of Canadians. Those who don't want to kill people and those who do. How did they get citizenship in the first place? Shouldn't somebody have picked up on that?

Do we have immigration accountability watchdogs? or would that be considered racist.
dante...can I guess? Were the people having difficulty getting immigration approval white, educated landowners trying to leave Zimbabwe?VF

Canada's immigration system is in a shambles. Citizenship & Immigration have a government imposed quota per year, come hell or high water. A Citizenship office Manager's performance is judged by their ability to meet the quote, come hell or high water. Whether or not a potential Canadian citizen has a criminal background is secondary to making the quota. Believe me, I used to work in the system. I saw it with my own eyes.
