"That's Not a Landslide - That's an Avalanche"

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial election is all but over now, and the Liberal Party is it's lone casualty. At this point, the PC's have picked up 8 seats for a total of 44 seats. The Liberals have as of this moment only two seats - Yvonne Jones in Cartwright-L'anse au Clair (I actually spent the weekend in her riding), and Jim Baker.

Perhaps the most high-profile casualty is Liberal Leader Gerry Reid, whose son I am friends with. The official vote count at the moment is only seven votes in the difference, so there will almost certainly be a recount. However, if Reid loses his seat it will be the most symbolic loss for the Liberals this night.

The seat count at the moment:

PC - 44

Liberal - 2

NDP - 1
