The Hon. John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant-Governor

Yesterday, the Hon. John C. Crosbie took over as the 12th Lieutntant-Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador. He was preceded by Ed Roberts, a genteel former provincial Liberal cabinet minister who has held the post since November of 2002.

Danté and I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Crosbie on numerous occasions over the years and even though he is a ripe 77 years of age, he still maintains extraordinary mental clarity and his trademark sharp wit hasn't dulled a bit over the years.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his new post and wish him all the best in the years to come. He has served his country well in the past and will no doubt continue his tradition of exemplary public service.

I would also like to take a moment to thank Mr. Ed Roberts for his dedication and service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. I wish him well in his future endeavours.
